Install Stremio on Android TV, Fire TV & FireStick (2025 Guide)

Method 1: Google Play Store (Easiest)

If your device has Google Play Store:

Steps

1. Open Google Play Store on your Android TV

2. Search for “Stremio” using the TV remote

3. Select the Stremio app by Stremio

4. Click “Install”

5. Wait for installation, then click “Open”

Method 2: Sideload APK (Fire TV, non-Google devices)

⚠️ Warning

Sideloading requires enabling Developer Options. Only proceed if you’re comfortable with this.

Steps

1. Enable Developer Options

   • Go to Settings → My Fire TV (or Device)
   • Click About
   • Click Build Number 7 times until you see “You are now a developer”

2. Enable ADB Debugging and Apps from Unknown Sources

   • Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options
   • Enable ADB Debugging
   • Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

3. Install Downloader app

   • Search for “Downloader” in the app store
   • Install it

4. Download Stremio APK

   • Open Downloader
   • Enter URL: https://www.stremio.com
   • Navigate to downloads and get the Android TV APK

5. Install the APK

   • Click “Install” when prompted
   • Wait for installation

6. Disable Unknown Sources (recommended)

Important: Use Android TV Version

Make sure you download the Android TV version, not the phone/tablet version. The TV version has:

• TV-optimized interface
• Remote control support
• Better performance on TV hardware
